Case study

About the company

Infor is a multinational enterprise software company, headquartered in the USA. It focuses on business applications for organisations, delivered via cloud computing as a service.

Original GP investment rationale

Golden Gate’s investment strategy is closely aligned with its perpetual fund structure, which allows the Manager to benefit from longer holding periods than traditional private equity funds. This enables the GP to operate more like a strategic acquirer, retain companies in the portfolio for an extended time and deploy value creation plans over a longer period. Golden Gate saw an opportunity to acquire Infor and build the company through both organic growth and add-on acquisitions, taking the time to fully integrate the acquired businesses and obtaining synergies.
